Westwood College's Chicago Campuses Host Annual Graduation Ceremony
Graduates received degrees in justice, IT and healthcare
CHICAGO, Aug. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Nearly 460 students graduated Sunday, Aug. 23 from Westwood College's four Chicago area campuses. These graduates earned bachelor's degrees, associate degrees and diplomas in a variety of programs, including Criminal Justice, Information and Network Technologies, Graphic Design, Construction Management, Healthcare Management and Medical Assisting.
The commencement ceremony was held at Chicago's Orchestra Hall.
For Esmeralda Rodriguez, who graduated with a diploma in medical assisting from Westwood College's DuPage campus, graduation means she can successfully transition to the medical field. Rodriguez has been working as a warehouse manager for 15 years, and has always wanted to get into medicine to help make a difference in peoples' lives.
"I tried going to community college, but didn't get the support or the hands-on training I was looking for," said Rodriguez, who is in the process of interviewing for medical assisting positions. "At Westwood College, they supported me and taught me everything I need to know about being a medical assistant, from phlebotomy to billing to back-office administration."
Westwood College has four campuses in the Chicago area: River Oaks, O'Hare, DuPage and Chicago Loop. Students from Westwood College Online also participated in Sunday's graduation ceremonies. The campuses offer a variety of degree programs, which include student-focused benefits such as:

"Many of these outstanding graduates come from diverse backgrounds and are the first in their families to graduate from college.
