Westlake Chemical Dedicates New Geismar, Louisiana Chlor-Alkali Plant
HOUSTON, Feb. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Westlake Chemical Corporation (NYSE: WLK) announced today that it held a dedication ceremony for the new Geismar, Louisiana Chlor-Alkali plant this morning. This ceremony was attended by The Honourable Bobby Jindal, Governor of Louisiana, James Chao, Chairman of the Board of Westlake Chemical and Albert Chao, President and CEO of Westlake Chemical. They were joined by various state and local officials, local industry guests and executives and employees of the company.

The new plant created 70 additional permanent positions in Geismar and at the peak of construction created over 2,000 construction jobs. During Westlake Chemical's time in Louisiana, it has invested over $2.5B in the state, in grassroots construction and other capital expansions.
