Westfield Group's Peter Lowy to Deliver Commencement Address at UCLA Anderson
Co-CEO of one of the world's largest retail property groups
LOS ANGELES, March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- UCLA Anderson School of Management today announced that Peter Lowy, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Westfield Group, will address this year's MBA, Fully Employed MBA (FEMBA), and Ph.D. graduates. The graduation ceremony will take place on June 14, 2013, at 4:00 pm on Wilson Plaza at the UCLA campus.
Lowy, with 30 years' experience in the shopping center and real estate investment trust industries, has been with Westfield Group since 1983. Westfield Group is one of the world's largest retail property groups, with investment interests in more than 100 shopping centers across five countries (Australia, New Zealand, United States, United Kingdom, and Brazil) valued at more than $64 billion. Prior to joining Westfield, Lowy worked in investment banking in London and New York.
Lowy also is the chairman of the Homeland Security Advisory Council for Los Angeles County, serves on the RAND Corporation Executive Committee and Board of Trustees, the Executive Committee of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, and is a director of the Lowy Institute for International Policy. He has served as chairman of the American Jewish University and is currently chairman of the board of The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles/TRIBE Media Corp. Lowy is a member of the Wall Street Journal's CEO Council and serves on the JRC's External Advisory Group for Public Policy & Finance at Princeton University.
