WGU is ideal for busy IT professionals with full-time jobs and family obligations. Degree programs are all online and competency-based, allowing students to study when they have the time and to advance when they demonstrate proficiency rather than by earning credits for time spent in classes. Because WGU is a non-profit university with a mission to provide accessible higher education to working adults, tuition is affordable, less than $6,000 per year. And, WGU continues to buck the trend in higher ed—tuition hasn't increased in the past year, and won't increase this year.
All of WGU's Information Technology programs include industry-recognized certifications, including CIW, CCNA, MCITP, OCA, and CompTIA. In addition, WGU is a Microsoft IT Academy member, which allows the university to offer students world-class technology curriculum and courseware provided by Microsoft. The College of Information Technology offers eight bachelor's degree programs:
- B.S. Information Technology
- B.S. Information Technology—Networks Administration
- B.S. Information Technology—Networks Design and Management
