Western & Southern Names Steven Kreider Chief Investment Officer
- Sargen transitions to chief economist and senior investment advisor -
CINCINNATI, May 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Western & Southern Financial Group (Western & Southern) has named Steven K. Kreider senior vice president and chief investment officer for Western & Southern and Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Inc. (Fort Washington), effective May 30.
Nicholas P. Sargen, current senior vice president and chief investment officer, will remain with the company and transition to a new position of chief economist and senior investment advisor.
In his position, Kreider will be responsible for overseeing the investment activity for all assets under management for Fort Washington and its divisions and subsidiaries.

Kreider earned an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University, and an MBA in quantitative analysis and a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Cincinnati while playing wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Prior to joining Fort Washington, Kreider served as head of Insurance Asset Management at Western Asset Management Company in New York. He also served as managing director for Morgan Stanley Investment Management in New York. Earlier, he was a partner in the firm of Miller, Anderson and Sherrerd.
