SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va., Aug. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, Teamsters Local 175 in South Charleston announced the union's endorsement of Jim Justice for governor of West Virginia.
The Teamsters Union, which has more than 4,000 members across West Virginia, chose to back Justice because of his commitment to creating good jobs in the state, fixing the infrastructure and fighting outside special interest groups that seek to undermine the middle class.
"Jim Justice is the right choice for working families in West Virginia," said Ken Hall, President of Teamsters Local 175 and General Secretary-Treasurer of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. "His record of putting the men and women of our great state to work speaks volumes about what he will do as our governor."
Justice has pledged to work from day one of his administration on bringing new jobs and attracting new employers to the state. His vision of turning West Virginia into a central logistics hub is the type of forward-thinking that the Teamsters support.
"Justice is the right man for the job," Hall said. "Increasing West Virginia's role in our nation's supply chain will bring more freight and warehousing jobs to the state. Those jobs are the kind of positions that can become good-paying, union jobs that can help middle class West Virginians provide for their families."
