West Valley Staffing Group: Majority of Silicon Valley Employers Expect Hiring Levels to Increase in Q2
SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- According to West Valley Staffing Group's latest Economic Survey, employment levels in Silicon Valley remain positive and are expected to increase or remain steady throughout the second quarter of 2012.
Each quarter, West Valley Staffing Group (WVSG) surveys an array of hiring managers throughout Silicon Valley about their upcoming hiring needs. The hiring managers come from many industries, including electronics, semiconductors, medical, manufacturing, high tech, finance, aerospace, and alternative energy. Each participant is asked, "Do you expect your hiring needs to increase, remain steady, or decrease in the next quarter and beyond?" This is the only economic survey uniquely exclusive to Silicon Valley!
According to the quarterly survey, 91% of hiring managers predict that hiring will increase or remain steady during the second quarter of 2012, up from 90% at this time last year. Meanwhile, only 9% of hiring managers expect their needs to decrease. This is the fourth straight quarter of reported employment growth!
"Employers have indicated that hiring will remain steady and continue to increase in Silicon Valley," said Michael Williams, President and CEO of West Valley Staffing Group. "The second quarter of 2012 is the fourth consecutive quarter of reported employment growth, according to our data."
Of the more than 350 hiring managers surveyed, 39% actually expect their hiring needs to increase, while 52% expect no change in their hiring needs. Conversely, only 8% anticipate their hiring needs to decrease, while 1% chose not to respond.
