West Valley Staffing Group: Greater Part Of Silicon Valley Employers Anticipate Hiring Levels To Increase
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- According to West Valley Staffing Group's latest Economic Survey, employment levels in Silicon Valley continue to rise and are expected to grow or remain steady throughout the third quarter of 2012.
Each quarter, West Valley Staffing Group (WVSG) surveys an assortment of hiring managers throughout Silicon Valley about their impending hiring needs. The hiring managers come from many industries, including electronics, semiconductors, medical, manufacturing, high tech, finance, aerospace, and alternative energy. Each participant is asked, "Do you expect your hiring needs to increase, remain steady, or decrease in the next quarter and beyond?" This is the only economic survey uniquely exclusive to Silicon Valley!
According to the quarterly survey, 90% of hiring managers expect their hiring to increase or remain steady during the third quarter of 2012, same as this time last year. Meanwhile, only 10% of hiring managers expect their hiring needs to decrease. This is the sixth quarter in a row of employment growth in the ninetieth percentile!
"Hiring will remain steady in the upcoming quarter, though this isn't unusual for hiring this time of year," said Michael Williams, President and CEO of West Valley Staffing Group. "We continue to see healthy numbers of job orders coming in and look forward to a busy second half of the year."
Of the more than 400 hiring managers surveyed, 29% actually expect their hiring needs to increase, while 61% expect no change in their hiring needs. Conversely, just 10% anticipate their hiring needs to decrease, while less than 1% chose not to respond.
