MIDLAND, Texas, Oct. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- West Texas National Bank's Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Chris Whigham has been promoted to Bank President. Board Chairman, David Davis, has expressed the entire Board's confidence in Chris's abilities to embrace his expanded management role with the Bank. Chris will continue to office at WTNB's banking headquarters located at 6 Desta Drive in Midland, Texas. "Our Board is excited to have Chris help lead our Bank into this new era, where the Permian Basin is filled with so much opportunity," said Davis.
Keith Moore remains the Bank's Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and will continue to drive responsible, sustainable, and profitable growth. These changes will also allow Mr. Moore to focus more on corporate development underway in several areas of the Bank. Mr. Moore added that the, "promotion of Chris Whigham to President of the Bank was the culmination of deliberative efforts to broaden our Senior Management Team and posture the Bank for future growth and corporate development opportunities, both in our Midland market and our greater West Texas community banks."
Chris graduated in 1982 with a Petroleum Engineering degree from Texas A&M University. His banking career began at Midland National Bank / First City Bank Texas. After his eleven-year tenure with First City, Chris worked in various engineering roles with Parker and Parsley / Pioneer Natural Resources and Concho Resources. In 2004, he returned to banking as an energy lender and Senior Vice President of Energy Lending with West Texas National Bank. A life-long Midlander, Chris has raised his family in, and maintained strong ties to our local community.
