West Coast Labs Announces Software Testing Results: Antivirus Software Provider YAC Receives Check Mark Certification
NEW YORK, Dec. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- U.K.-based West Coast Labs, the world's leading antivirus test provider, recently announced that security solutions developer YAC has received the Check Mark certification, after passing three tests on security, ease of use and impact on system in West Coast Labs' latest round of antivirus software testing. The Check Mark certification is one of the highest recognitions worldwide for information security products, and is considered one of the world's top three authoritative certifications along with VB100 and AV-C. In addition to YAC, the certification has been bestowed to several other of the world's leading security software providers including Norton, Symantec and Kaspersky. West Coast Labs said that the test environment used was Windows7, and that it tested YAC's ability to identify and eliminate viruses. With established features and outstanding virus identification and elimination capability, YAC received certifications for these capabilities as well as for its anti-Trojan capabilities.
YAC is a free system-cleaning and antivirus client software provided to the global market by Elex do Brazil Technology Ltd. The software features strong system control ability, and provides users (including computer novices) guidance for computer care. John, a 72 year-old loyal user from the U.S., said his computer never crashes since a friend recommended him to install YAC half year ago. "Just clicking a button, 'the guy' prevents viruses automatically, blocks ads and cleans junk files. It's great," said John, "I think I should recommend it to more of my friends."
"If people were aware of how many online threats are out there and the danger they represent, they would all be using YAC. It enables my computer to dispense with web ads and Trojans," said Lucas, a loyal YAC user from Munich, Germany, when commenting on the importance of the antivirus software. "It is amazing and beautiful. It guards my computer like the fence surrounding my garden, without any complex operations."
"We have a great sense of accomplishment, as we receive letters of thanks from all over the world every day and the 'Please buy me one coffee' request program on the YAC website page receives donations from users every day," said Ran Hoffman, a senior engineer at YAC. YAC has gained popularity among users worldwide, as the software focuses on providing users with outstanding service quality and experience. YAC now has in place a product R&D team with expertise in the world's leading technologies. To date, the team has identified and processed 70,188 types of malware, has archived 7.7 million virus samples in its virus database, and handled more than 2 million comments providing feedback from users. By analyzing and organizing these data, YAC has gradually expanded its business scope from its initial homepage protection service to peripheral services that can help improve user experience such as junk file cleaning, anti-malware software and anti-adware.
"In the third quarter of 2014, the 24/7 R&D team added a number of new functionalities to the product as a result of customer demand, including lock, recovery, ad block and real-time traffic reporting." said Tim Taylor, a member of the team. "We are constantly trying to develop new features which, together with the original basic set, create the current comprehensive range that meets the demands of our users, in a move to help them solve the various issues they encounter around computer usage. While this is definitely a big mission as so much work has to be completed in such a short time, every member of the team feels highly energized as it is such a challenging and interesting job."
"The team's workload has drastically increased as we receive a wide variety of feedback from an increasing number of users. Today, we are still able to respond to all questions from users within 24 hours, including those regarding failure to open a website or how to delete rogue software and pup viruses. These problems can all be solved with what are in most cases fee-based solutions that are offered by our customer service."
Ran Hoffman, the head of YAC added, "Thanks to the team's massive and productive efforts, YAC's products have been well received among users and are currently used in over 190 countries and regions globally with millions of active users. Our core goal is 100% customer satisfaction. Looking forward, the company will continue focusing on how to make computers run faster for users while also seeking to expand its user base and market presence via providing users with superior products and services."
