West Cary Group Wins Four PRSA Awards

RICHMOND, Va., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- West Cary Group, a minority-owned marketing, communications and advertising agency headquartered in Richmond, VA, recently earned three Awards of Excellence and one Award of Merit at the 2010 Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Commonwealth Awards.

This year, West Cary Group was honored for an integrated communications campaign it created to celebrate Dominion's centennial anniversary. The three Awards of Excellence were for Publications, Audio Programs and Internal Video. The Award of Merit was for Internal Communications.

For the past 63 years, the Commonwealth PRSA has recognized "the most creative communications strategies and tactics happening across the state of Virginia."

The campaign included a traveling exhibit that chronicles four periods in Dominion's history: The Early Years, Growth, Innovation and "Becoming Dominion." A kiosk with a high-definition video monitor presented historic videos the agency created especially for the project. Rich and insightful interviews with former Dominion workers were distributed through podcasts. And the centerpiece of the exhibit was a leather-bound scrapbook, each page carefully aged to reflect the time period.
