West Cary Group Announces Scholarship for Creativity at Visual Arts Center of Richmond

RICHMOND, Va., March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- West Cary Group, an award-winning marketing communications and advertising agency headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, announces a partnership with the Visual Arts Center of Richmond (VisArts) to establish the West Cary Group Scholarship for Creativity. This scholarship is designed to help adults of all income levels attend classes at VisArts. Awards will vary depending upon individual need, but up to 20 adults will benefit from the scholarship within the next year.

"When I first went to VisArts, I was instantly inspired," says Moses Foster, WCG President and CEO. "Students mold clay on pottery wheels to your left, there's an exhibition from Oscar Munoz on your right, and teachers show how to turn hot glass into works of art in front of you. I wanted to give others a chance to experience the creativity I saw going on around me. That's what the West Cary Group Scholarship for Creativity is all about."

That creativity can take shape in a variety of forms. VisArts' current schedule includes everything from glass casting, where students use kiln-casting techniques to create three-dimensional glass works, to galvanic etching, where they learn how to use electricity to etch metal.

West Cary Group believes exposure to such beauty and imagination shouldn't be limited by economic circumstances. The Scholarship for Creativity will provide an outlet for students who otherwise would not be financially able to express themselves through the arts.
