West Boylston Schools Featured on FundingFactory Recycling Outreach Campaign
ERIE, Pa., Sept. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- West Boylston Public Schools will be featured as part of a national video outreach campaign for FundingFactory, a fundraising-through-recycling program that collects used inkjet, laser cartridges, cell phones, laptops, and small electronics and pays schools for these items in cash and rewards.
To date, for the West Boylston Public School system, recycling with FundingFactory has translated to $40,000 worth of laptops, projectors and digital cameras otherwise out of financial reach.
"We've been collecting and sending in used cartridges for years--- the program is a no-brainer for any school district looking to increase fundraising. You recycle, they pay for shipping, and you get the returns," said Steve Pellowe, technology coordinator, West Boylston Public Schools.
A film crew and team of executives from FundingFactory visited the school in July to prepare the feature highlighting West Boylston as a Recycling Champion.
"West Boylston is really the model for community involvement," says Sean Michaels, FundingFactory president. "And it all tracks back to Steve. He's done an incredible job of promoting the program and letting them know the value to the school. As a result, they've been very successful."
The video will debut on e-school news http://www.eschoolnews.com/video/?value=739 for the month of September and will appear at www.fundingfactory.com.
