CABOT, Vt., May 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Cabot Creamery Cooperative announced its third round of winners in the Reward Volunteers Program. The 25 top individual performers collectively gave nearly 3,000 hours to the volunteer organizations and charities of their choice during the month of April.

"As we pass the halfway point of the program, it's great to watch Reward Volunteers grow each month," says Cabot Director of Marketing/Integrated Services Jen Neary, who worked with Chalo, Inc., a Vermont-based startup, to create the Reward Volunteers iPhone and computer widget. "Almost 700 volunteer organizations are now benefiting from Reward Volunteers. It is important to the dairy farm families that we recognize those who give their time, skills and energy to make their communities better."
Reward Volunteers uses Facebook Connect to enable participants to log their volunteer activity and share the volunteer experience with friends via Facebook, email, and the app itself. The more hours logged, the more 'likes' and 'comments' received, and emails opened, the more likely participants are to win prizes each month, now until July 7, 2012, the weekend the final grand prizes are awarded.
Since the February 14 launch date, hundreds of volunteers have used Reward Volunteers to track the service that improves their communities. They've logged time working at food banks, women's shelters, animal rescue centers and hundreds of other vital non-profits across the nation.
The top performers for the third month have been selected as April's Reward Volunteers Winners of the Month.
"I am so excited," said Ashley Rosendale, a volunteer at the Antler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary in New Jersey, a non-profit organization dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned animals. "I don't volunteer for the recognition, but I think the Reward Volunteers program is absolutely wonderful. It is so nice to know that there are people out there who care about what you are doing for your community."
Other third round winners include Reward Volunteers users from across the nation who've won Cabot Cheddar gift baskets, Gardner's Supply Company Gift Cards, Ski Vermont Ski Passes and a vacation for four to Liberty Hill Farm in Rochester, Vermont.
