NEW YORK, June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Wendy's® just gave fans of indie rock band American Authors the ultimate surprise by treating them to a live in-studio performance in New York City. Wendy's has teamed up with the band to celebrate the launch of its new limited-time Bacon Mozzarella Burger. The performance was followed by a dinner where fans enjoyed burgers with the band.

Wendy's teamed up with indie rock band American Authors to celebrate its new, limited-time Bacon Mozzarella Burger and surprise super fans with an intimate live performance. The band joined fans as Wendy's treated everyone to Bacon Mozzarella Burgers following the performance on Thursday, June 2, in New York City.

The live gig is the latest in a series of unique, entertaining activities that Wendy's has arranged to celebrate the Bacon Mozzarella Burger and its unexpected flavors. Earlier this week, Wendy's and American Authors debuted the band's latest track, "Right Here Right Now," streaming exclusively on Wendy's Facebook and Twitter channels and online at unexpectedsoundsgood.com. The track will appear on the band's upcoming studio album "What We Live For," out July 1.

The Bacon Mozzarella Burger boasts Wendy's signature quality ingredients including thick cut, oven cooked Applewood Smoked Bacon and fresh, never frozen North American beef*. Wendy's then takes the taste to a new level with a creamy and sweet natural mozzarella, a cheese that has the perfect meltability when placed on a hot beef patty. The burger is then topped with sliced red onions, spring mix and a garlic parmesan cheese spread – all sandwiched between a toasted garlic brioche bun.
