ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 8, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Wells Fargo clinched the top spot as the largest workplace community support campaign in the U.S. for 2010 according to United Way Worldwide. Wells Fargo team members pledged $38 million through its annual Community Support and United Way Campaign. Combined with other year-round donations to nonprofits and schools, team member donations exceeded $55.3 million, which will be used in part to help United Way meet national goals to improve educational outcomes and increase the graduation rate, help more families become financially stable, and increase the number of healthy youth and adults.

More than 39,000 Wells Fargo team members volunteered 1.3 million hours in 2010, providing financial education, building houses, mentoring youth, cleaning up parks and neighborhoods, and much more. The company also invested $219 million in grants to support 19,000 nonprofits.
