Wellnext™ Honored with Healthiest Employer Award

This award underscores over 30 years of commitment to encouraging its employees to live healthy lifestyles through wellness initiatives, programs, and education.

The annual South Florida Business Journal's Healthiest Employer Awards recognizes organizations that are committed to creating a healthy workplace. Out of the hundreds of companies that submitted, twenty finalists were honored for their wellness programs that help keep employees fit, while also shaving companies' healthcare costs.

This year, Wellnext started a bike exchange program between employees, and held a family-friendly bike ride to encourage active lifestyles. After numerous employees expressed interest, Wellnext sponsored a team to enter local bike events.  Furthermore, employees participated in 'Relay for Life,' raising $20,000 through bake sales with a unique catch:  employees were required to do squats or other physical exercise prior to making a purchase.  Employees also had the opportunity to participate in a weight loss challenge with access to a personal trainer during the work week.

Men and women are also taught the importance of diagnostic screenings in Wellnext's preventative health campaign.  The company's annual employee appreciation day was an Olympic-style event that encompassed employees participating in volleyball, kickball, wheelchair races, and pickup basketball games. 

This recognition marks Wellnext's third year being nominated and their second win in the category of medium sized companies.
