WellCare Expands 2017 Medicare Advantage Plan Options in Illinois
Benefits Support Preventive and Maintenance Care
CHICAGO and TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG) will offer an expanded variety of Medicare Advantage plans in Illinois for 2017 that provide more benefits and services than Original Medicare.
During the 2017 Open Enrollment Period, which runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7, 2016, Medicare-eligible people in Illinois will be able to select WellCare plans that are specifically designed to meet their budget, while giving them resources to get and stay healthy. All plans have extra benefits not available with Original Medicare, such as dental, vision, hearing, and a complimentary fitness program. Most plans also offer a $0 co-pay for primary care physician visits and free transportation to medical appointments.

All Illinois Medicare Advantage plans offer a monthly allowance to help purchase needed over-the-counter health items, such as vitamins, toothbrushes and cold remedies. In addition, Illinois members have access to a 24-hour Nurse Advice line.
WellCare's Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plans feature a unified national pharmacy network with key national retailers, including CVS, Walgreens and Walmart*. This simplified benefit design allows a member to pay the same cost share per medication at all network pharmacies.
