Well-Known Swim and Fitness Facility, NOMAD Aquatics and Fitness, Sold to New Owners
CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- NOMAD Aquatics and Fitness, a swim and fitness facility located in Huntersville, NC has officially been sold to new owners by way of Viking Mergers & Acquisitions. NOMAD Aquatics and Fitness was founded by Steve and Myra Billings over 25 years ago and since then they have grown the business into a major factor in the Charlotte market and the Southeast, with an impressive 38,000 square foot facility and a 300 member swim team. After 25 years, Steve and Myra Billings decided it was finally time to retire and sought out the services of a third-party firm to help broker the deal.
"After all these years, we knew it was time to sell," says Steve Billings, founder of NOMAD Aquatics and Fitness. "Selling a business is a major undertaking and we wanted a professional to represent us, which is why we hired Brad Offerdahl," Steve continues. As such a large swim center, Brad knew interest would be high and confidentiality would be key. "I knew we would need to take extra precautions to protect confidentiality while searching for the perfect buyer," explains Brad Offerdahl, founder of Viking Mergers & Acquisitions.
And finding the right buyer didn't take long. "After just four months, we received an offer," says Brad Offerdahl. The prospective buyer was Mark Minier, a swim coach from Atlanta who was looking to invest in an aquatics center of his own. Mark Minier had the experience, tenacity, and drive needed to fit with the business and the deal was closed. "We could not be happier with the results and look forward to enjoying retirement while watching the business continue to flourish," says Steve Billings.
