The panel, entitled "Now it's Technical: Marijuana on the Map" will be hosted on May 13 at 2:50 p.m. PT.
The sold out conference, which is being produced by the organizers of The Summit, one of the world's most influential and internationally recognized technology events, is expected to host 1,000 attendees, upwards of 150 exhibiting startups and more than 60 technology industry leaders as speakers, including Aaron Patzer, founder of Mint.com; Ryan Holmes, founder and CEO of Hootsuite; and Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos.
Hartfield's panel will explore how science and technology are acting as a catalyst to both the de-stigmatization and realization of legal marijuana's full potential. On the panel with Hartfield will be Allen St. Pierre, executive director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML); and Bryson Rast, a lab technician at Realm of Caring, a 501(c)3 organization best known for its development of Charlotte's Web. Parmy Olson, a tech reporter at Forbes, will moderate the panel.
"The organizers from The Summit didn't skip a beat in putting together Collision, which has some of the biggest names in technology present," said Hartfield. "The fact they're producing a marijuana technology panel and that I was asked to participate is a testament to the progression of the industry and Weedmaps' technological capabilities. I'm thrilled to be participating in Collision and am looking forward to a great conference."
