BROOMFIELD, Colo., Aug. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Webroot, a leader in cloud-based security intelligence solutions, today announced a number of additions to the company's executive team. John Post, former vice president of finance, has been named chief financial officer. The company also announced that Jeff Santelices, formerly vice president of strategic alliances, has been appointed senior vice president of worldwide field operations. In addition, Melanie Williams, formerly senior director of human relations, has been named vice president of human relations, and Scott Merkle, previously vice president of business development for BrightPoint, has joined Webroot as vice president of enterprise sales and OEM sales.

As chief financial officer, John Post now oversees the company's entire financial organization including the tax, treasury, accounting, facilities, financial planning and analysis, and information systems departments. Post brings more than 15 years of tax and finance management experience to his role as CFO. Before joining Webroot, he was vice president of tax at DISH Network and Echostar Corporation. Prior to that, he was tax director at Molson Coors Brewing Company, and has also held management roles at First Data Corporation and Deloitte Tax LLP.
In his new role as senior vice president of worldwide field operations, Jeff Santelices is responsible for global sales and demand fulfillment across all of Webroot's markets, channels and geographies. In his three years at Webroot, Santelices has been instrumental in securing many of the company's strategic and OEM partnerships with companies such as F5, Sourcefire and Meraki, expanding Webroot's leadership position in the consumer sector, and establishing Webroot's strategy and momentum in the SMB segment through both direct and channel and MSP sales. Prior to joining Webroot, he held a variety of executive positions in sales, marketing, strategy, services and support at TrackVia, Hyperic, SpringSource, Corio, IBM, Oracle, and AT Kearney.
As vice president of human resources, Melanie Williams leads Webroot's worldwide human resources operations, including workforce planning, leadership development, employee compensation and rewards, internal communications, and employee engagement. Williams has been with Webroot more than five years, during which she has managed an increasing scope of HR responsibilities. Prior to joining Webroot, Williams held a broad range of human resource and organizational development roles with Kapalua Resort and Access Distribution, and was a co-founder of Innovative Human Resources.
As vice president of enterprise and OEM sales, Scott Merkle will manage Webroot's initiatives with large customers in the financial, networking and mobile sectors. Previously the senior vice president of business development for BrightPoint, Scott brings 26 years of experience in the high tech and communications industries including sales, marketing and product management positions with Apropos Technology, Zenith Data Systems, GO Corporation and Andersen Consulting.
