BROOMFIELD, Colo., June 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Webroot, the market leader in intelligent cybersecurity for endpoints and collective threat intelligence, today announced highlights from its third quarter operations which ended March 31, 2015. Among the achievements for the quarter were significant growth across all business segments, driven by strong customer demand for innovative Webroot solutions and substantial increase in channel and MSP partnerships. The company also introduced enhancements and industry-leading research during the quarter.
Double-Digit Growth in New Business Continues
Webroot's third fiscal quarter saw a continuation of the strong bookings growth from the first half of the fiscal year. The addition of new customers was particularly strong and fueled double-digit year-over-year growth across all of the company's target markets. Bookings from new business grew 28 percent in the OEM segment, 40 percent in the small and medium business (SMB) segment and 27 percent in the consumer segment compared to the third fiscal quarter of 2014. This new business resulted in the addition of over 1.3 million new home users, over 260,000 new business endpoints and over 380 new MSP partners added during the quarter.
"We are a strong growth company with every region growing in double digits in revenue this quarter," said Dick Williams, Webroot CEO. "A combination of the lightest endpoint agent and collective threat intelligence makes Webroot cybersecurity ideal for protecting virtually any device and the Internet of Everything. We remain focused on delivering a smarter approach to cybersecurity that works better for our customers, and they have awarded us with their loyalty and satisfaction."
Strategic Security Alliances and Partnerships
Webroot expanded its worldwide network of alliances, announcing several new partners who are utilizing Webroot BrightCloud Threat Intelligence to increase the security of their own products and services or offering Webroot SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection to protect their customers. To complement their existing portfolio, 443 Networks chose to use a combination of their own cloud platform and Webroot BrightCloud Threat Intelligence Services. They embedded three BrightCloud Threat Intelligence Services into their offering to allow for early identification of infected and compromised sites: Web Classification, Web Reputation and IP Reputation.
In addition, Webroot announced a strategic partnership with INTEC, a software company based in Japan targeting the enterprise market. INTEC is expanding its product portfolio with Webroot SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection and Webroot for Financial Services and eCommerce Security to help its business and bank customers benefit from improved malware protection, server access control and multi-device management.
Channel Focus Fuels International Expansion
Webroot continued to expand into new international markets by adding distributors and resellers to its rapidly growing channel network. Among these additions were Continuum, who is bundling Webroot SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection into its intelligent Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platform. The platform offers proactive problem resolution backed by the company's industry-leading Network Operations Center (NOC) and Service Desk that resolves thousands of alerts, 24/7/365. By utilizing Continuum's "smart-sourcing" model and outsourcing most day-to-day IT functions, Continuum's MSP partners can leverage intelligent Webroot cybersecurity to easily deploy and manage endpoint security across multiple domains, devices, customers and offices from a single, centralized console in single-pane window view.
"Webroot SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection is a smart, fast and very effective choice in antivirus and antimalware solutions that uses cloud data centers to protect users from new threats in real time," said Dee Zepf, vice president of products and technical services at Continuum. "Continuum has chosen to bundle Webroot with its RMM product because it saves time and helps partners operate more efficiently and, most importantly, our partners have asked for it by name."
Webroot also announced the appointment of Robbie Upcroft as managing director for the Asia Pacific region. He will be responsible for driving revenue growth, market momentum and overall business strategy for the company in the Asia Pacific (APAC) market.
