The James Beard Foundation Awards are the nation's most prestigious recognition program honoring professionals in the food and beverage industries.
Published by Oxmoor House and produced by Weber-Stephen Products Co. (Weber Grills), Weber's Way to Grill was released in March 2009 and made the New York Times Best Seller List. The cookbook demonstrates that culinary details matter—even when it comes to grilling. Its design strikes a gorgeous balance between clear instructions and imaginative aesthetics. It can be opened at any page, and both the novice and experienced griller will learn something new.
The book also has more than 1,000 brilliant, full-color photos of its 160-plus recipes and the detailed, step-by-step techniques—all taken by James Beard Award-winning photographer Tim Turner of Tim Turner Studios.
Residing in El Dorado Hills, Purviance is a graduate of Stanford University and the Culinary Institute of America. He is an accomplished chef and teacher who has helped millions of people to grill like professionals. He's also a regular contributor to national newspapers and magazines and the author of many best-selling cookbooks, including Weber's Real Grilling™, Weber's Charcoal Grilling™, and the soon-to-be-released Weber's On the Grill™ cookbook series.
Purviance plans to attend the annual James Beard Foundation Media & Book Awards Dinner—an invitation-only event honoring the nation's top cookbooks, food journalists and culinary broadcast programs—on Sunday, May 2, 2010 in New York City. The event will be hosted by Bravo's Top Chef Masters host Kelly Choi and the Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern.
