Weber State University Telitha E. Lindquist College of Arts & Humanities Announces Inaugural Season of Browning Presents!

SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Weber State University's Telitha E. Lindquist College of Arts & Humanities (http://weber.edu/cah), today announced the inaugural season for Browning Presents! which was formerly known as the Office of Cultural Affairs. Weber State University's (WSU) Browning Presents! serves as the center of cultural life and performing arts education along the Northern Wasatch Front and is committed to welcoming world-renowned performers, artists and speakers to the stage, campus and the greater Ogden community. This year's season will include: Jazz musician, Sean Jones; journalist, Ronan Farrow; The Choir of Clare College, Cambridge and award-winning documentary film director Helen Whitney.

Browning Presents! 2018-2019 Season:

Sean Jones: Jazz musician, Sean Jones will perform Friday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. Jones switched from the drums to the trumpet upon his first exposure to Miles Davis at the age of 10. Twenty-five years later, he is celebrating the 60-year anniversary of Davis,' Kind of Blue with a special one-night performance at the Val A. Browning Center.

Ronan Farrow: Farrow is a contributing writer to The New Yorker, a television anchor and investigative reporter whose work also appears on HBO. A series of stories he wrote exposing the sexual predation of the movie producer Harvey Weinstein won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in 2018. He is the author of "War on Peace: The End of Diplomacy and the Decline of American Influence." He will be at Weber State University's Val A. Browning Center January 19, 2019, at 7 p.m.

Helen Whitney: Helen Whitney is an American producer, director and writer of documentaries and feature films that have aired on PBS, HBO, ABC and NBC. Whitney's film, The Mormons, was a four-hour PBS series and the first collaboration between the PBS programs American Experience and Frontline. She will be on campus for a public lecture in February 2019.

The Choir of Clare College: The Choir of Clare College, Cambridge has gained an international reputation as one of the leading university choral groups in the world. The choir will perform on stage at the Val A. Browning Center March 25 at 7:30 p.m.
