- Honored for Leading Innovative Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives -
NEW YORK, Oct. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Weber Shandwick's Judith Harrison was named to Savoy Magazine's Top Influential Women in Corporate America 2012 list, the publication's list of African American Women achievers. As senior vice president, Staffing and Diversity & Inclusion, Harrison leads the development and execution of diversity and inclusion strategies for the firm.
In compiling the list, Savoy Magazine looked at many potential candidates and a variety of "Top 100" listings, and wanted to "represent not necessarily those who have the most power, but to have those with the most influence not just within their companies, but also in their surrounding communities." According to the publication, "these inspired visionaries truly represent the mission of Savoy Magazine and encompass a broad professional base ranging from supplier diversity, financial services, real estate, healthcare, sports, consumer products, telecommunications and more."
"Judith is a champion for diversity and inclusion, and we are proud to see her efforts recognized by Savoy Magazine. She has been instrumental in advancing our efforts of building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workplace, the sharing of best practices, and creating innovative talent outreach initiatives," said Andy Polansky, president, Weber Shandwick.
Harrison serves on the board of directors of New York Women in Communications, where she raises funds to provide scholarships for young women entering the communications industries, and is on the advisory board of the Ron Brown Scholar Program, which provides scholarships and leadership opportunities for young African Americans of outstanding promise.
