SAN FRANCISCO, May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Weber Shandwick, one of the world's leading global public relations firms, announced today the appointment of several key hires in the firm's San Francisco office across its Creative, Digital and Corporate ranks. Weber Shandwick's Northern California region continues to expand its integrated communications and content marketing expertise following the appointment of Luca Penati as general manager, San Francisco and Silicon Valley, and Mediaco lead for the Western region late last year.
Jonathan Carroll has been appointed senior vice president and will lead Weber Shandwick's Digital and Creative teams in San Francisco. Carroll has nearly 15 years of experience working with top brands to execute digital campaigns across a variety of consumer and B2B verticals. He will work with clients across practices on content creation, digital strategy, social media engagement and creating interactive solutions across a wide variety of platforms.
Heather Gallegos also joins as senior vice president in the San Francisco Employee Engagement & Change Management group. In this role, Gallegos helps senior business leaders across practice areas translate complex, strategic business imperatives into compelling stories that resonate with customers, employees, investors and the media.
Weber Shandwick has also hired Douglas Myers as vice president in the firm's Corporate Practice in San Francisco. Myers has crafted and implemented integrated communication programs for leading global companies for nearly two decades. At Weber Shandwick, he will work with the firm's corporate clients to support corporate and executive positioning, reputation management, media relations and thought leadership.
"Jonathan, Heather and Douglas each bring significant value to the San Francisco team as we expand our capabilities and continue to integrate traditional PR with social, digital and broader marketing services," Penati said. "Our West Coast operations have generated major momentum over the past year and we're thrilled to welcome new talent with diverse backgrounds and knowledge to help meet growing client and market demand."
Carroll joins Weber Shandwick from Livefyre, where he created and marketed digital and interactive products as the head of Creative Client Services. Carroll also held senior roles at Chaotic Moon, one of the world's leading mobile development companies, and Gowalla, a web and mobile product company that was acquired by Facebook in 2011.
Prior to Weber Shandwick, Gallegos was a communications advisor to engineering, marketing, operations and IT executives at Cisco Systems. In that role, she helped Cisco's global teams successfully navigate leadership transitions, adopt new technologies and drive culture change to maximize organizational performance. During her seventeen years with Cisco, Gallegos held senior management roles in corporate communications, marketing and business operations. Her experience spans the technology, health & wellness, and medical device industries and includes executive communications, employee engagement, change management and project management.
Myers joins Weber Shandwick from Landis Communications, Inc. (LCI), where he was a director supporting the firm's financial, real estate and CPG clients. Prior to LCI, Myers was a communications consultant in Los Angeles, where he developed communication and branding initiatives for several financial and professional service institutions. Myers also served as communications director for both LA Law Library and AIDS Walk.
