Weber Shandwick Hires Angela Wonson to Lead Healthcare Media
NEW YORK, June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Weber Shandwick, one of the world's leading global public relations firms, today announced that Angela Wonson has joined the Healthcare practice as executive vice president for healthcare media, effective immediately.
Wonson will be responsible for strengthening the firm's strategic media relations offerings for healthcare clients and will work with the healthcare media team throughout North America. She will be based in New York and report to Barbara Box, president of the New York and Chicago Healthcare practice.

Wonson brings nearly two decades of communications experience to this role and, most recently, served as senior vice president of Edelman's National Health Media practice. Prior professional experience includes Calman Media, her proprietary media consulting company and Chief Communications Officer for The Cleveland Clinic. In addition, she was manager of media relations for MSNBC and CNBC where she was the primary spokeswoman for NBC News' Brian Williams and managed publicity for the networks' primetime programming.
She has held positions as a television news producer, publicist and media strategist in a variety of industries including: network television, online media, healthcare, NGO's, government, public relations, politics and entertainment.
