Webcor Builders Ramps up Southern California Operations
One of California's Prominent Construction Companies Adds Three Contractors to their Los Angeles Office
LOS ANGELES, June 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Webcor Builders ("Webcor"), one of the largest general contractors in California with offices in San Francisco, Alameda, Los Angeles and San Diego, has added multiple construction professionals to their Los Angeles based staff, meeting the demands of the growing Southern California market. Webcor will add Jim Brain as Chief Estimator and Bill Lee as Project Director. In addition, Webcor has announced that Paul Christen, Preconstruction Director from the company's San Francisco headquarters, will move to the Los Angeles office helping oversee the Southern California preconstruction team.
All three executives serve Webcor's stated goal of expanding its operations in the Southern California market. The company has recently secured several major residential and infrastructure contracts in the Los Angeles area and looks to build on those successes while expanding into other markets.
"Jim, Bill, and Paul will really help our growing operations in Southern California as we look to service the tremendous rise in Webcor business," said Mark Turner, senior vice president of Southern California Operations. "They each bring unique qualifications and diverse experience and will form a cohesive team."
Jim Brain has 16 years in the construction industry and a diverse background in estimating as well as preconstruction. Brain has spent his entire career in Southern California, and has built strong relationships with local subcontractors and suppliers that will help expand Webcor's base and become more competitive. His experience includes preconstruction for several major projects including the DBIA award-winning Los Angeles Mission College East Campus Complex.
Bill Lee has worked in construction since 1989 in a variety of capacities, and also served in the United States Marine Corps for eight years. His experience spans multiple product types from acquisition through execution, including several projects for the U.S. Department of Defense. Lee's understanding of the Southern California market will allow Webcor to pursue more work in that region.
Paul Christen has been with Webcor since 2001 and currently serves as a Preconstruction Director. He has 21 years in the construction industry and will work with Brain and Lee as well as the existing LA staff. He has been involved in several of Webcor's most notable San Francisco residential high-rise projects including the Millennium Tower, the St. Regis Museum Tower, and the Infinity Towers.
Webcor's recent awarded projects include The Bloc; a large redevelopment project in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, a new 66000-square-foot West Coast outpost for IMAX in Playa Vista, CA as well as major renovations to Argo Hall Residence Hall at Revelle College in San Diego. Several additional large scale projects will be announced later this summer.
