Wealth Management Team Joins People's United In Connecticut
BRIDGEPORT, Conn., March 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- People's United Bank announced today that a team of five seasoned professionals has joined its Wealth Management group. The team, led by David J. Dixon, Senior Vice President, Wealth Management at People's United and, most recently, Director of Webster Private Bank and Wealth Management for Webster Financial Corporation, brings a total of over 130 years of combined experience in Wealth Management and will augment the bank's current business capabilities in the central Connecticut market.
The team, which will be located in the Gold Building at One Financial Plaza in Hartford, will serve clients in central and eastern Connecticut.

David J. Dixon, CFA, Senior Vice President, Wealth Management
Dixon's responsibilities include overseeing the investment management, trust, and financial planning functions. Dixon has over 20 years of experience in investment management and banking.
Prior to joining Webster, Dixon was employed by Harbor Capital Management in Boston. He also served 16 years at Fleet in a variety of strategy and investment related capacities.
Dixon, who earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Virginia and MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the Hartford CFA Society. He serves on the Board of the Saint Francis Hospital Foundation and on the Executive Committees of the Boards of the First Tee of Connecticut and the Arthritis Foundation of Southern New England and Northern New England.
Charles L. "Chip" Olson, Director of Sales, Wealth Management, Senior Vice President
Olson has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, most recently as Director of Business Development for the wealth management arm of Webster Bank, working with affluent, high net worth individuals and non-profit institutions. Prior to joining Webster, he was Senior Vice President with Bank of America's Private Bank; and President and CEO of Phoenix National Trust Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Phoenix Life Companies. Other work experience includes Senior Vice President, National Sales for Phoenix Investment Partners, CIGNA and U.S. Trust Company in New York. He has had relationships with some of the country's largest public and corporate pension plans.
Olson, who earned his undergraduate degree at Hobart College in Geneva, NY and an MBA in finance from the New York University's Stern School of Business, holds Series 7, 66 and Life and Health Licenses. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Children's Medical Center Foundation, United Way of Capital Area's Investment Committee, the Simsbury Soccer Club and the Treasurer of the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford.
Stephen W. Bright, CFA, Senior Portfolio Manager, Senior Vice President
Bright brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry as he joins People's United from his position at Webster Private Bank as a Portfolio Manager. For the last 13 years he has managed portfolios for high net worth individuals and nonprofit organizations at Webster, Trust Company of Connecticut and NewAlliance Bank. Previous work experience includes the day-to-day responsibility for a "Manager of Managers" program at Allmerica Financial and performing due diligence on over 50 money managers in conjunction with a national pension consultant. Bright began his financial career as a private placement analyst and fixed income portfolio manager at Travelers.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College and MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. Bright is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Hartford Society of Financial Analysts.
Christopher Alcorn Childs, CFA, Senior Portfolio Manager, Senior Vice President
Childs has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, most recently as a Portfolio Manager with Webster Private Bank, working with affluent and high-net worth individuals and institutions.
He earned his undergraduate degree at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Hartford Society of Financial Analysts.
Childs currently serves on the Town of Suffield Board of Finance. In addition to his role as Treasurer of the Suffield Library Foundation, he also serves on several other local non-profit boards.
Robert E. Maglio, Senior Portfolio Manager, Senior Vice President
Maglio has over 12 years of experience in managing investments for high net worth individuals, families and not-for-profit institutions, most recently with Webster Private Bank where he was responsible for the research and coordination of all fixed income trading within Webster Private Bank. In addition, he oversaw equity research within specific sectors and the diligent management of his client portfolios. Previously Maglio held positions at The Hartford and MassMutual.
He is a 1998 graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a B.S. degree in Business. He holds the Series 6 and Series 7 licenses and is currently pursuing his Certified Financial Planner designation in an effort to provide a more holistic approach to his client relationships.
