We The People Opens Its First Crowdfunding U.S. Brick-and-Mortar Store in St. Louis
A Pop-up Event Will Kick Off the Premiere of a New Store That Exclusively Helps Crowdfunded Creators Launch Products in the U.S. for the First Time
ST. LOUIS, Oct. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- We The People (WTP), the world's only multichannel crowdfunding retail chain and community, today announced it will open its first U.S.-based brick-and-mortar store in St. Louis, Missouri in early December 2018. Prior to the opening of the store, WTP will host a pop-up store until the end of November for the St. Louis community. Opening the store is WTP's next step in expanding into the U.S. market, providing creators of crowdfunded products with a way to distribute them to a large, worldwide audience. The store will be located at the West County Center Mall, unit 1150.
WTP has built its reputation helping entrepreneurs with education, live funding, a roadmap to help creators achieve sustainability, and informing creators about the pitfalls of launching a crowdfunded product. Using their online platform and brick-and-mortar space, WTP has designed a proven model to create revenue opportunities for these crowdfunded entrepreneurs and their products. They are also creating a national tour throughout the U.S. called "For Creators, By Creators." The first event will be held in Boston on October 25th with other events to follow.
WTP stores feature products from creators who used crowdfunding to get their ideas off the ground. The WTP stores provide these innovators with the next steps on how to reach customers for their products. To date, WTP has brought 160 brands and 500 products to the public via its brick-and-mortar and online stores. WTP stores already feature products from innovators including Rocketbook, Mogics Power Bagel, Kisetsu Slim Wallets, Quiver Bag by BOW, Nerdwax, Potato Pirates, and Ambi Climate, and they hope to expand offerings from other U.S. entrepreneurs.
"WTP is helping creators turn dreams into reality by providing a blueprint for bringing a crowdfunded product to market, helping creators find sustainability after crowdfunding, and reaching potential customers around the world," said Jay Kang, CEO of WTP. "WTP stores help to build the brands of each creator by making sure their products end up with their ideal target customer. We're excited to expand our reach further into the U.S. by opening our first store in St. Louis."
The pop-up event will take place at the West County Center Mall, unit 1150, beginning on November 16 until the store opens in early December. Customers will have the opportunity to touch and feel these crowdfunded products and purchase them immediately versus having to wait if they purchase an item online. This is the only store in the U.S. that exclusively sells crowdfunded products. Members of the community are invited to participate in the event, including art activities, raffles, and sneak peeks at some popular and innovative products available at the WTP store. Visitors will have the chance to try out an Oppy camera, a flexible camera and recent Kickstarter product that will be on hand to record all of the excitement.
