Wayne State University Names Ronald T. Brown Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
DETROIT, June 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --Today Wayne State University President Jay Noren announced the appointment of Ronald T. Brown as provost and senior vice president for academic affairs effective August 1, 2010.
Brown was dean of the College of Health Professions at Temple University for six years before joining Wayne State. He holds a Ph.D. from Georgia State University and a B.A. from Emory University. Brown is a fellow of the American Psychological Society, the American Psychological Association, the Society of Pediatric Psychology and is a Diplomate in clinical health psychology of the American Board of Professional Psychology.
An Atlantic City, N.J. native, Brown is a leading pediatric psychologist who specializes in children and adolescents with chronic illnesses, attention deficit disorders and learning disabilities. In the role of provost he will oversee all aspects of teaching, learning and scholarship, as well as student affairs and a variety of student services at Wayne State.

Brown replaces Nancy S. Barrett, who stepped down as provost in May 2010.
