Wavien, Inc. Demonstrates the Micro-Cube Using RLT™ With Performance Over 10,000 Nits for Outdoor Display Applications
VALENCIA, Calif., June 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Wavien, Inc. is demonstrating a very bright outdoor ready Micro-Cube display system using Wavien's proprietary Recycling LED Technology (RLT™) at the InfoComm trade show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, June 13th - 15th, 2012. The system yields more than 10,000 Nits of brightness and is a new lower cost answer to digital imaging in bright outdoor conditions.
Wavien's Micro-Cube is a stackable system and can be configured in a variety of sizes and shapes. The demonstration uses 19-inch diagonal LCD screens and each Micro-Cube is powered by a 100W LED chip.
"Wavien's RLT technology recycles otherwise wasted high angle light from the LED and reshapes the beam through the RLT reflector's aperture. This recycling mechanism increases the light output of the system at smaller angles, and increases the brightness of the system," stated Dr. Kenneth Li, President and CEO of Wavien, Inc., who is also the inventor of the recycling technology. Dr. Li added: "This unique design enables LED based products to have increased total brightness by over 80% for most LEDs." This brightness improvement is provided by adding a simple low-cost reflector with an aperture to standard LED packages. The diameter of the opening, which determines the amount of recycling, and the total size of the reflector can be scaled to meet the specific design requirements of the system. In this Micro-Cube system, the aperture is made rectangular, matching the shape of the LCD display panel.
Wavien's recycling LED platform is a low-cost, simple approach for providing bright digital imaging suitable for outdoor displays and signage. Please contact Harry Farrar for further details.
