DESTIN, Fla., Nov. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Watertree Health, a leading health care company providing free prescription discount cards benefitting nonprofits, announced today its support for the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®). The new nationwide program supporting the ASPCA, and recognizing the significant health benefits of pet ownership, will help accomplish two critical goals: to increase the number of people who can afford their prescriptions, and to protect and save animals throughout the United States.
From October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017, each time someone saves money with their prescription discount card benefitting the ASPCA, Watertree Health makes a $0.50 donation to the ASPCA, which can help rescue cats and dogs. Cardholders can save up to 75 percent on medications for themselves and their pets, as long as the prescriptions can be filled at "human" pharmacies.
"The ASPCA is committed to protecting pets and keeping them in safe and loving homes," said Christina Wyman, Senior Director of Strategic Cause Partnerships at the ASPCA. "We appreciate Watertree Health's support of the ASPCA. It will help us continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable animals across the nation."
Animal lovers can get this free prescription discount card by going to WatertreeHealthCard.com/ASPCA or texting ASPCA to 95577. Additionally, they can see how much they will save on their prescriptions at their favorite pharmacy at wtree.us/savingstool.
Watertree Health President, Shane Power said, "There is a lot of research that shows the positive health impact pets can provide people. Our support of the ASPCA is a natural extension of our company's mission to keep our communities healthy. Of course, we love animals, so we're very pleased to be able to support their mission. We're grateful and excited that the funds raised will help the ASPCA care for and prevent cruelty to animals throughout the United States."
