Currently a resident of The Watermark at Logan Square in Philadelphia, Jones served for 13 years in the U.S. Army after graduating in 1956 from the ROTC at Johns Hopkins University. He was a member of a "Military Advisory Team" in the Me Kong Delta and received three glorified medals including the Bronze Star, Air Medal and Joint Service Commendation Medal.
