Waterford Finds New Home on Boston's Iconic Newbury Street
BOSTON, Jan. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Waterford, a leading luxury lifestyle brand, will expand its footprint in the Americas with a new boutique on Boston's famed Newbury Street. The store, which will reside at 127-129 Newbury Street on the 2nd floor, is the brand's first stand-alone location to open in recent years and marks the company's focus on high-end giftware, home décor and interiors as it joins beloved neighboring Boston retailers.
"As a contemporary brand steeped in classic heritage, we are excited to call Boston our first home in 20 years and what better place than the renowned Newbury Street," said Pierre de Villemejane, CEO of Waterford. "We look forward to providing another house of luxury for Bostonians to shop in for all occasions.
To commemorate the occasion, Waterford has created exclusive Boston pieces that will only be available for purchase at the new storefront. The pieces include an engraved Waterford Statehouse Oval Vase depicting the historic Massachusetts State House and a Waterford Public Garden Oval Bowl featuring the famed Swan Boats that have navigated the Boston Public Garden's idyllic pond since 1877.
In celebration of the launch, Waterford has partnered with local Boston charity, Artists for Humanity, and will donate 10% of proceeds from sales during the store's grand opening weekend, January 15-January 17. Artists for Humanity was founded in Boston in 1991 and serves to bridge economic, racial and social divisions by providing under-resourced youth with the keys to self-sufficiency through employment in the arts. Original works of art, painted by youth involved in the organization, will be on display during Waterford's grand opening weekend.
