Waterford and Times Square New Year's Eve Invite Revelers around the World to Share Their Messages of Peace
Select sentiments will be honored in a toast during the live New Year's Eve Celebration
WATERFORD, Ireland, Dec. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- This holiday season, to celebrate the Let There Be Peace theme introduced to the 2013 Waterford Crystal Times Square New Year's Eve Ball, Waterford and Times Square New Year's Eve are inviting friends around the world to share what it is that peace means to them. Select sentiments will be included in the Waterford toast given during the live New Year's Eve Celebration in Times Square to over a million revelers on-site and online via the official webcast.
"Waterford, a global brand synonymous with celebration, is overjoyed to unite people around the world in the common goal of peace by collecting personal and meaningful messages and recognizing them during a live toast on New Year's Eve," said Waterford Vice President of Global Marketing, Regan Iglesia.
For more than a decade, dazzling Waterford crystal triangles have adorned the Times Square New Year's Eve Ball. Each year, Waterford designers introduce a new signature cut crystal pattern to become part of the current series of crystal sentiments. Peace, the final release in the current "World of Celebrations" series, showcases a dove surrounded by a burst of sunlight. Doves are universal messengers of love and peace appearing in the symbology of many religions around the world. Past sentiments in the "World of Celebrations" series have included Light, Joy, Courage, Love and Friendship.
While Waterford and Times Square New Year's Eve will be celebrating Waterford's year of Peace, December also marks a time to celebrate the Time Square Alliance's partnership with Yoko Ono and Art Production Fund as she spreads her message of peace throughout the holiday season.
Tim Tompkins, President of the Times Square Alliance, said "Waterford's sentiment of peace, represented through the Times Square New Year's Eve Ball and Yoko Ono's IMAGINE PEACE, encourages people around the globe to come together to wish for a better world starting right here in Times Square."
During the month of December, Yoko Ono's message, IMAGINE PEACE, will be featured nightly during the three minutes proceeding midnight as part of the Times Square Moment: A Digital Gallery, a presentation of the Times Square Advertising Coalition and Times Square Arts. On December 21, New Yorkers are invited to come together in the Crossroads of the World to celebrate peace and sing John Lennon's legendary song "Imagine" while IMAGINE PEACE plays on Times Square's monumental billboards.

Messages of Peace can be shared until December 31st at 5 PM EST via one of three ways:
