Washoe County, Nevada Upgrades with Manatron's State-of-the-Art CAMA Software
PORTAGE, Mich., Aug. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Manatron, Inc., a leader in providing integrated property tax and land administration software for governments worldwide, today announced that Washoe County, Nevada, has contracted with Manatron to implement its computer-aided mass appraisal (CAMA) software, GRM customCAMA, to serve as its newly integrated property assessment system.
Manatron's GRM customCAMA is a comprehensive property appraisal software product and is the only completely customizable CAMA solution on today's market, offering multiple, tailored options for local government property appraisers depending on their unique, local needs. This combination of power and flexibility makes GRM customCAMA a popular choice for large and complex jurisdictions.
When the Washoe County Assessor's Office reviewed options for upgrading its current property assessment system, the priority was to locate a vendor that offered a product with complete integration potential. Washoe County was already using Manatron's GRM customCAMA for personal property assessment, so selecting Manatron for the real property side (for real estate) offered a better integration potential and cost-savings. The county also selected Manatron due to its knowledge of government software, its technical resources and the company's stability and growth. Funding for the implementation came from the Assessor's Technology Fund – a dedicated pool of resources authorized from the state to upgrade technology in the Office of the County Assessor.
"Manatron's GRM customCAMA is a powerful, proven product that really fits our software needs as we continue to improve our services for the taxpayers and taxing entities of Washoe County," said Josh Wilson, Washoe County assessor. "Manatron was the obvious choice for our county as we looked to round out our technology and administrative needs with a partner who could not only complete the conversion process, but apply their experience and knowledge of our jurisdiction and the industry as a whole to ensure a smooth implementation."
Throughout the implementation process, Manatron will be preparing Washoe County for a more technically advanced future, as the product will allow the assessor's office to improve communication and interaction with the tax payers, while offering better methods of evaluation and use of resources. The software has an anticipated 2012 launch date.
