Washington Nationals Honor the Pentagon Memorial Fund for September 9th Home Game
WASHINGTON, Sept. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Washington Nationals will be honoring and hosting representatives of the Pentagon Memorial Fund on September 9th during their game against the Miami Marlins at Nationals Park. In pregame ceremonies and through announcements and activities during the game, the Nationals organization will pay tribute to all the lives lost and sacrifices made that took place on September 11th, 2001. In addition, the Nationals are generously donating a portion of ticket sales to support the Pentagon Memorial Fund and the Pentagon Memorial 9/11 Visitor Education Center project.

Currently, the Pentagon Memorial Fund is actively fundraising to design and construct the Pentagon Memorial 9/11 Visitor Education Center. The state of the art, interactive center will be a place where visitors from around the world can learn about the events of September 11, 2001, the lives lost that day, and the historic significance of the Pentagon Memorial site. The national 9/11 Pentagon Memorial was originally dedicated on September 11th, 2008 and is located adjacent to the impact zone where American Airlines Flight 77 was crashed into the Pentagon.
