DC Mayor, Veterans to Testify before House Committee in Support of Resolution Calling for District of Columbia to be Admitted as 51st State

Residents of the District -- including veterans -- will testify at a hearing before the New Hampshire House Committee on Federal-State Relations and Veterans Affairs in support of H.R. 26, a resolution calling for full democracy and statehood for residents of the District of Columbia.
DC residents currently have no voting representation in Congress despite fighting and dying in wars, paying federal taxes and serving on federal juries. The resolution, sponsored by Rep. Cindy Rosenwald, expresses support for admitting the District of Columbia as the fifty-first state.
