Washington Attorney Richard D. Heideman Calls for Immediate Release of BBC Journalist Paul Martin
WASHINGTON, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Richard D. Heideman, a Washington human rights lawyer who represents victims of terrorism, today called for the urgent release of BBC journalist Paul Martin, who has been arrested in Gaza by Hamas.
Paul Martin was arrested on Sunday on baseless accusations of 'endangering the security of the state'. The terrorist organization Hamas, currently controls Gaza.
Heideman stated, "Paul Martin is a seasoned journalist whom I have known for years since his writing days with The Washington Times. He is pure at heart in investigating and reporting the news as he sees it. The arrest of Paul Martin in Gaza by Hamas is not only a violation of Paul's human rights, but of the very principles of freedom of the press and the public's right to know for which Paul Martin stands. Hamas is a designated foreign terrorist organization ("FTO") which has no respect for justice or the rule of law and whose actions cannot be countenanced by the free world. The principles of liberty and justice mandate that Hamas immediately release Paul Martin, unharmed, and dismiss the false charges filed against him."
