Waratek Presenting at OWASP's AppSec USA 2017
John Matthew Holt to discuss ways to speed costly and time-consuming application patching
DUBLIN and ATLANTA, Sept. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Waratek, the virtualization-based application security company, today announced that John Matthew Holt, founder and CTO of Waratek will present "Popular Approaches to Preventing Code Injection Attacks are Dangerously Wrong" on Thursday, September, 21, at the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP)'s AppSec USA 2017 in Orlando, Florida.
What: "Popular Approaches to Preventing Code Injection Attacks are Dangerously Wrong"
According to the 2016 Verizon Data Breach Investigation Report, web application attacks like the recent attack against Equifax are the top source of data breaches today. Currently, the most common approach to protecting applications is to identify and fix/patch vulnerabilities like those recently found in the Struts 2 framework and regularly announced by Microsoft and Oracle. The amount of time required to apply patches makes this approach risky.
Presentation attendees will gain a working knowledge of how the next generation of application security solutions will be used against common attacks, especially code injections. In the future, web-based applications will be protected by highly accurate, easy to operate virtualized technology in the runtime.
When: Thursday, September 21, 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. ET
Where: AppSec USA, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Orlando, Florida
