NEW YORK, June 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Wanderport Corp. (OTC Markets-PINKSHEETS: WDRP) today announced that it has selected Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL), the recognized leader in setting the standard for product safety, as the primary resource for safety testing the innovative microwave energy tank-less water heater.
Wanderport will provide their prototype (SCMHU) to a North-American (UL) location for evaluation. The results of said evaluation will be actively shared with engineering partners and assimilated into future designs and models. Further to this, Wanderport expects Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) to accomplish the following:
- Study the unit and offer opinions and recommendations related to the unique nature of the product and to obligatory safety standards pertaining to domestic hot water heating appliances.
- Discuss the product and determine the standards that must be met to retail the unit to selected markets.
- Evaluate the unit to offer their opinion and necessary input, which will be integrated into the design of the units to be commercialized.
Wanderport is not at liberty to release additional details on the file and does not anticipate the timeline of UL's analysis to curtail moving forward with the "on demand/point of use" multi-cavity microwave heating unit (MCMHU) eventually intended for selected manufacturers to adapt into a marketable product for assembly.
"Our product is characterized by many disciplines namely; water, heat, electricity and microwaves. Therefore, while some may question the need for this procedure, we truly are of the opinion that undergoing UL's analysis will pre-empt delays due to unforeseen safety requirements. In the real world, as tedious as it may seem, this course of action must be maintained for a smooth transition to a marketable product," stated Mr. Robert Simoneau, Wanderport Corporation's Technical Advisor and Product Licensor.
"Our primary objective is to produce a safe, quality product, for the enjoyment of consumers everywhere. That said, we are delighted to work with Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL), the global independent safety science industry expert. This is a marvelous opportunity to proactively assist our engineering partners to reach our goal as swiftly as possible," concluded Richard Martel, CEO of Wanderport Corporation.
