Walter W. Stern III Honored for Focus on Law and Education

KENOSHA, Wis., Oct. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Walter W. Stern III is a distinguished biographee of Marquis Who's Who. As an attorney with more than four decades of experience, Mr. Stern is most concerned with the legal practice of civil rights, criminal defense, personal injury, constitutional law and family law. His goal above all else is to help hardworking individuals overcome the institutional barriers preventing them from achieving success in their personal and professional lives. In pursuit of this endeavor, Mr. Stern has been admitted to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin, as well as before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. Stern was born in 1946 to Walter W. Stern Jr. and Harriet Louise Stern. Initially driven to pursue a career as an educator, he worked as a high school teacher for a short period of time before deciding to shift his focus toward more ambitious pursuits. Upon receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Carthage College in 1969, Mr. Stern attended Marquette University, where he completed a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1974. Shortly thereafter, he launched a private legal practice, which he continued to maintain until 1982, when he assumed the role of senior partner with Joling Rizzo Willems Stern & Burroughs for three years. Between 1985 and 1991, Mr. Stern was recognized as a senior partner with Caviali & Stern before he ultimately returned to private practice in 1991. He served as a lecturer in criminal law at Carthage College, his alma mater, from 1976 to 2005.
In recognition of his ongoing contributions to the legal profession, Mr. Stern has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including several editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the World. He was most recently selected to receive the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
Over the years, Mr. Stern has continued to assist the legal community in a variety of roles. Prior to becoming a candidate for circuit judge in 2005, he served as a hearing examiner for General Relief from 1990 to 1995. He also worked as an educator for the Domestic Violence Project for more than a decade in the 1980s and 1990s. Looking ahead, Mr. Stern intends to continue teaching, with the possibility of lecturing on the social sciences in the future.
