Event Includes Breakfast, Full Day at Zoo, T-Shirts, Entertainment
CLEVELAND, Aug. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Gather friends this fall and walk for a wonderful cause, benefiting the Hospice of the Western Reserve. The second annual Walk to Remember, sponsored by FirstMerit Foundation, will take place Sunday, Sept. 15, 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Cleveland MetroParks Zoo. Registration opens at 8 a.m.; the walk begins at 8:45 a.m. It offers a meaningful way to pay tribute to loved ones while striding past pink flamingoes, African lions, kangaroos, elephants and more. All proceeds stay within Northern Ohio. Funds raised will assist seriously ill patients and their families by providing compassionate services such as hospice care, grief counseling, pediatric palliative care, pet and art therapy, and caregiver support.
"Registering for this year's walk is easy for individual walkers as well as teams," said Bridget Murphy, Corporate Relations/Special Events Manager. "Registration is $20 for an individual and $50 for a family. Registration includes all-day admission at the Zoo and Rainforest, complimentary pancake breakfast in the Palava Hut Pavilion, T-shirts and entertainment."
To register, visit http://www.hospicewr.org/walk. Walkers will be able pick up their packets in advance at nine convenient locations throughout Northeast Ohio for speedy admission the day of the event. For more information, email Murphy at [email protected], or call her at 216.383.3715.

The winner will be able to explore an underwater paradise off this volcanic island (rated one of the top 10 scuba diving locations in the world), see tropical birds and wildlife, and explore lush landscapes, ranging from coastal beaches to rainforests.
