Wajam Wins Three Stevie® Awards in 2012 International Business Awards(SM) Contest
Stevie Names Wajam Most Innovative Company of the Year in Canada
MONTREAL, Aug. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Wajam (www.wajam.com), a leader in social search technology, announced today its recognition from the 2012 International Business Awards as a winner of three Stevie Awards. In addition to being named a Silver Winner for the Most Innovative Company of the Year (in Canada and the U.S.A.), and the Best Social App, Wajam also was named the Gold Winner for Best Online Press Room. The awards are part of The 9th Annual International Business Awards held this year, which will be celebrated at a Gala Banquet at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Seoul, South Korea on October 15, 2012.
In the Most Innovative Company of the Year Award (Canada and the U.S.A.), Wajam received the highest score of all Canadian companies, winning a Silver Award and naming it the most innovative company in Canada. It was also the only Canadian company to place in the Social App Category.
"Entries to the IBAs grew substantially this year," said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. "Despite slow economic conditions in much of the world, the quality of nominations was outstanding, demonstrating that there are many companies that are innovating and growing regardless. We're looking forward to celebrating this year's Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie winners at our gala event in Seoul."
"What an honor to be recognized with such reputable and innovative global leaders," said Wajam Founder and CEO Martin-Luc Archambault. "It has been an amazing year of growth for Wajam as we continued to expand our team of engineers and developers to help us launch new ways to capture friends' recommendations during everyday searches for products, places, photos, videos and links. As the social networking world continues to grow exponentially, we have been able to help people easily search through friends' posts for the content that most matters to them."
The International Business Awards are the world's premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2012 IBAs received entries from more than 50 nations and territories. Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 300 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process this year.
The awards come shortly after Archambault was selected by Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur Of The Year® Awards as one of the top game-changing entrepreneurs who continue to drive sustainable growth and job creation across Canada.
