Founded by Replika creator Eugenia Kuyda, Wabi is redefining personal AI as something people can use together, combining an AI agent and personalized mini-apps to help people pursue interests, navigate life's challenges, and do more of what they love
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Following strong interest in its recent public launch, Wabi, a new kind of personal AI assistant built for life together, today announced $55 million funding led by IVP, at a $1.25 billion valuation. Other participants included Andreessen (a16z), Forerunner, Amazon Alexa Fund and top angels and founders including Tobi Lütke, Marc Benioff, Marissa Mayer, Dick Costolo, and Alex Pall.
Founded by Eugenia Kuyda, who previously founded AI companion platform Replika, Wabi is reimagining what a personal AI agent can be. While most AI assistants today are built for one person typing into one chat, Wabi is betting the next era of personal AI happens between people; from the newlyweds excited about their next adventure, the book club planning its next themed night, the running group coordinating their next weekend route, the family sharing the mental load of running a household, to the friends who want to see more live music. Wabi combines an AI agent, personalized mini-apps, and shared spaces so people can put AI to work across their interests, relationships, and everyday lives.
"AI shouldn't just save people time. It should help them spend it better, doing more of what they love, with the people they love," said Eugenia Kuyda, founder and CEO of Wabi. "We believe Wabi has the power to become an operating system for life, a place where your people, your tools, and your AI come together to help you do more of what matters. As AI becomes more capable, it should help us not just get things done, but pursue our goals, discover new experiences, and show up for one another. We're building Wabi around that vision."
Since launch, users have found creative ways to use Wabi together. Friends have used it to discover new bands based on their shared musical tastes, run 30-day fitness challenges, and find thoughtful ways to check in on each other during hard times. Couples have used it to proactively plan date nights and keep the spark alive. Individuals have used it to build routines around personal goals and get step-by-step guidance through a breakup.
Personalized mini-apps make these interactions more than one-off chats. Couples can keep a running list of new restaurants to try and check them off together, families can share a weekly meal plan that turns into a grocery list, and friends can build trivia games for milestone birthday celebrations or trackers for their book club. These tools can be revisited and adapted over time, giving people a way to turn an idea into something they can keep doing together. Wabi also helps with everyday responsibilities, from coordinating family schedules and helping children with homework to booking appointments and planning trips.
"Eugenia has a unique sense for where AI is headed and a track record of great taste in building it," said Alex Lim, General Partner at IVP. "She has a clear vision for how people will interact with AI, one that goes far beyond the text box or command line. Wabi is the expression of that vision, and we're thrilled to support her."
"Eugenia Kuyda is one of the most incredible consumer thinkers I know. She was early and right about AI companions, and she thinks deeply about what people actually want. Eugenia knows personal agents need more than just a chat interface, so she's building Wabi as a shared place to plan, play and get things done together. It's a thoughtful bet in a space that's moving fast, and we're proud to have been in her corner since the pre-seed," said Anish Acharya, general partner at a16z.
The new funding will support Wabi's continued product development and expansion.
