SYRACUSE, N.Y., March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The W2O Group Center for Social Commerce, a partnership between W2O Group and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, today released its inaugural research report, "Thriving and Coping in a Social and Digital Age: Lessons Learned from Corporate Communications."
The Center for Social Commerce, founded in 2012, aims to ensure that Syracuse University students are exposed to the evolution of the communications industry and the role that social media, social commerce and analytics play within it. Through the Center, students, guided by professionals and educators from both W2O Group and Syracuse University, are given the opportunity to participate in complex and meaningful research projects.
The inaugural research report provides students the opportunity to learn firsthand how corporate communications functions at large, global companies are adapting, or failing to adapt, in a social and digital age.
"We are committed to helping educate and give opportunities to the next generation of communications professionals," said Jim Weiss, founder and CEO of W2O Group. "Through research projects like this, the Center for Social Commerce is giving students a glimpse into the real world that's not always easily accessible from the classroom."
"Thriving and Coping in a Social and Digital Age" chronicles the corporate communications function at five companies spanning various industries. The report provides a case study on each company, as well as key themes and key considerations important to those operating within each industry. An in-depth overview of the report can be found here.
