W2 Energy Builds Next Generation Compressed Air Engine
GUELPH, Ontario, Aug. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- W2 Energy, Inc. (OTC: WTWO) is pleased to announce that it has made significant progress in its development of commercially viable compressed air engine.
W2 Energy has modified its SteamRay engine to run on compressed air up to 3600 PSI and has called this compressed air engine the AirRocket. The AirRocket has multiple uses: it can power a vehicle and also convert stored compressed air into energy as in the CAES system designed by AzRISE (azrise.org).
Mike McLaren, the President and CEO of W2 Energy, recently returned from Tucson, Arizona, where he spent 3 days commissioning the first iteration of the AzRISE CAES system. Since his return to Guelph, Ontario, he has been working with W2 Staff to build the next generation AirRocket to mate with the AzRISE system. Once tested at AzRISE the entire CAES system will be installed and tested at the Tucson Electric Power site featuring Solon solar technology.
W2 Energy is currently completing a 65 horsepower version of the AirRocket to be installed in a high-end composite motorcycle which is being built in a joint venture with one of the major custom motorcycle builders in the United States.
"The AirRocket engine development is driving much of our new technology," says Mike McLaren. "Whether as a power plant for vehicles or as part of an energy storage and recovery system, we think the AirRocket will dramatically add to W2 Energy's bottom line."
W2 Energy trades in the United States on the OTC market under the symbol "WTWO." For further information, please contact Mike McLaren at (519) 341 4776 or go to www.w2energy.com
