Dr. Matthan's paper is titled, "Balancing Material Acquisition and Production Costs: Quantifying the True Cost of Aluminum Hydroxide Treated Natural Rubber Latex." Dr. Matthan, explained, "The true cost of manufacturing is measured as the sum of the total costs throughout the production cycle. Sometimes more can be less. Water and energy stress caused by the growing global population is expected to reach historic proportions, driving supply levels down and costs up, and directly affecting business operations according to a recent United Nations report."
Dr. Matthan continues, "Vytex NRL addresses both of these burgeoning global environmental and manufacturing concerns. With its green beginnings, Vytex NRL is biodegradable and renewable unlike the petroleum-based synthetics in use today that can challenge acquisition, use, and disposal operations. Vystar Corporation has developed a multi-patented technology using green chemistry to remove proteins and other non-rubber impurities from natural rubber latex, creating Vytex NRL (modified NRL). With its significantly reduced antigenic protein content, upgrading to modified NRL can eliminate the need for added processing steps to lower protein levels, saving energy, water, supply, and material handling costs while enhancing quality of the end product."
William R. Doyle, President and CEO of Vystar, commented, "The fact that our paper was accepted by MARGMA is exceptional considering the focus of the conference being on gloves just as we successfully conclude glove trials in Malaysia and start utilizing Vystar Professional Support to help launch exam gloves made with Vytex NRL. Dr. Matthan is exceptionally well-qualified in his field. He holds a Doctorate in Polymer Chemistry and is a Fellow at the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining in the UK, at the National College Rubber Technology in London, and at the Indian Rubber Institute. We are very fortunate to have him as one of Vystar's scientific advisors, and I believe his presentation will put forward a compelling economic and environmental case for using Vytex NRL in many varied industries."
