Increasing adoption of software-based networking technologies fuels rapid company growth
BELMONT, Calif., Aug. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Vyatta, the leader in software-based networking for virtual and cloud environments, today announced the appointments of Lisa Pavey as Vice President of Product Engineering and Dan Tuchler as Vice President of Marketing, adding a broad perspective and depth of experience to the company's executive team.
As vice president of product engineering, Pavey will drive product strategy and execution, including the productizing of the company's vPlane technology. Prior to joining Vyatta, Pavey held engineering leadership positions with NetApp, Tesla Motors, Sun Microsystems, Vodafone and others.
"A fundamental shift is underway affecting how datacenters are connected and it's incredibly exciting to play a key role in enabling this change for customers," Pavey said. "Vyatta's rich history in software-based networking technologies, coupled with our vPlane technology, highlights the innovation this team continues to bring to market."
Tuchler's 25 years of networking product management and marketing experience will be crucial to his role as Vyatta's vice president of marketing where he will be responsible for market strategy, product definition and positioning as well as marketing communications. During his career, Tuchler has participated in four public offerings (IPOs) and three acquisitions, and will be instrumental in guiding Vyatta's evolution, including continuing to build momentum within enterprise and service provider datacenters.
"Since the founding of Vyatta, the company has empowered datacenters to evolve beyond traditional networking strategies using proven protocols," Tuchler said. "With the advent of software-defined networking, Vyatta today is even better positioned to provide its customers with a clear-cut strategy for improving the agility and lowering the cost of their operations."
Along with the addition of veteran executive talent, Vyatta continues its growth in the company's total team size, global customer support and revenue traction.
"A perfect storm is gathering within networking that will truly alter the industry landscape and it has created a new sense of excitement with large customers around the world," said Kelly Herrell, CEO of Vyatta.
